Twin oak leaves, twin acorns (plus a third) are strewn upon the autumnal forest floor, among incised traces of other debris. Nickel oxide spatters mimic the spots so often seen on fading leaves as winter approaches. The tile is press-molded and hand colored with a combination of underglazes and glazes, along with nickel oxide.

The shadowbox frames have plexiglass, which can be removed, if a more “tactile” presentation is preferred. Shadowbox framed tiles have heavy-duty removable velcro strips attaching them to the frame back; tiles can easily be removed for re-framing/installation. The solid wood frame has no need for velcro — the tile sits tightly within the frame, and there is no glass or plexiglass offered.
